Our goal as a breeder is to better the breed. In order for that to happen we breed to be able to hold back puppies from our own lines. By doing the available health tests, we can also back up our dogs to make sure not only are we breeding better dogs but that you will also get a healthy puppy. We breed for type, health and temerament. We breed within our breed standard to maintain the intergrity of the breed.

Our Breeding Miniature Australian Shepherds have been tested or are being tested for....

PRA/Prcd  (Progressive Rod Cone Degeneration)A late form of PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy)

MDR1(Multi Drug Resistancy Gene) which can cause fatal drug reactions with certain common medications.

CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation) which is an exam by a board certified veterinary opthomologist to check for common eye deformities.

OFA (Orthopedic Foundation Association for Animals) which is an x ray of hips and elbows when the dog is 2yrs of age to check for hip dysplasia and elbow deformities. Dogs given a rating of Poor/Fair/Good/Excellent. We feel OFA good or better is the best way to improve the breed, so this is what we strive for.

We also are testing for HC which is hereditary cataracts.
